Abstract

Indian Amphibian Fauna has been presented with a brief information on distribution referring to frogs collected from different parts of India, special emphasis laid on new reports on haemoglobin variation, possible role of haemoglobin fractions resembling HbF of humans and also on new chromosome counts. Additionally, long chromosomes with "diffuse centromeres" (heterochromatic gaps) are being reported for the first time in Bufo.
